Dr William Chik is Cardiologist. He currently has public appointments as a Consultant Cardiologist (VMO) at the Westmead and Auburn Public Hospitals. He is an Accredited Cardiologist at the Westmead and Norwest Private Hospitals.

Dr Chik has extensive experience in general cardiology, arrhythmia & pacing, hypertension and heart failure management. He has an interest in heart rhythm management and radiofrequency ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac device implantation including pacemakers, implantable defibrillators and biventricular pacing to deliver cardiac resynchronization therapy for patients with heart failure.

Dr Chik was awarded his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of Adelaide in 2002. He completed advanced cardiology training at Westmead Hospital. He was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2009. He has an academic appointment as a Senior Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sydney. His enthusiasm and ongoing commitment to active clinical teaching led to his position as Clinical Lead for Post-Graduate Cardiology Training at Westmead Hospital.

Dr Chik undertook his doctorate studies in the sub-specialty field of Cardiac Electrophysiology. He was awarded his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by the Faculty of Medicine at The University of Sydney in 2015. Outstanding cardiac research output has been highlighted by over 100 national and international peer reviewed publications and abstract presentations, culminating in international recognition and awards from the cardiac electrophysiology and pacing community.

He recently returned to Australia following the completion of his Clinical Interventional Fellowship specializing in Cardiac Arrhythmias and Cardiac Device Management at the prestigious Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA where he worked and published research with the renowned world leading experts in this field.

He is a current Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (FCSANZ) and American College of Cardiology (FACC).

Dr Chik speaks fluent Cantonese and conversant in Mandarin.
