Australia on the Hollywood Private Hospital

conditions and helps optimise health and fitness to
enhance safe return to work, sport and recreation
to transition back into the community after illness or

Ramsay Health Plus Manager, Charlotte Foskett,
said “We’re very excited to provide the community
with high quality allied health services including
physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, occupational therapy,
exercise physiology, speech pathology, dietetics and
social work.”
“Our team of allied health professionals treat routine
outpatients as well as complex conditions, and
has experience in a variety of specialties ranging
from orthopaedics and injury recovery to oncology,
Parkinson’s disease and early dementia.”
“All treatments are delivered at the Ramsay Health
Plus facility which is located on the Hollywood site
and includes state of the art gym equipment, private
consultation rooms, a hydrotherapy pool for individual
and group therapy programs, and an area for Pilates.
By providing access to a range of allied health

treatment by several services are easily accessed and
managed.”
Ramsay Health Plus is one of only a few centres in WA
where physiotherapists and exercise physiologists
are licensed to provide the revolutionary PD Warrior™
program. Studies have shown this unique exercise
approach may slow down the progression of
Parkinson’s disease symptoms.
In addition to improving the health and wellbeing of
patients, the Ramsay Health Plus team is committed to
supporting and educating carers about the wide range
of treatment choices available for the individuals in
their care.
Ms Foskett added “Booking an appointment with
Ramsay Health Plus is simple. Patients can make
an appointment by contacting us directly and don’t
require a referral from their GP or doctor.”

Glengarry Private Hospital has celebrated 40 years
since opening as a hospital in 1977.
Glengarry opened with 80 beds, and has expanded
to a 110 bed hospital offering a range of services
including maternity, endoscopy, palliative care, surgical,
rehabilitation and medical services. In 2005, Glengarry
became part of the Ramsay Health Care group.
In November, members of the local community joined
Glengarry staff to commemorate the 40th anniversary in
the newly renovated hospital garden.
Barbara Limb, one of the first maternity patients returned
with her husband Murray and daughter Alison, the first
baby girl born at Glengarry.
Staff also welcomed Dr S.O. Lim, who performed the very
first surgery 40 years ago and enjoyed a lengthy history
with the hospital which culminated in his retirement in
2000.
Dr Lim remembers his time at Glengarry fondly. “It was full
of happiness and the people were wonderful.”
The event is also an opportunity for staff to raise funds for
a cause close to their hearts, with proceeds of the morning
tea supporting Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia
(PANDA) – a not-for profit-organisation helping Australian
families affected by postnatal depression.
Glengarry Chief Executive Officer, Leonie Gardiner, said
“We officially opened on 11 November 1977, and in that time
have cared for thousands of local people across a wide
range of specialties. Our maternity unit has delivered over
36,000 babies.
“We’re proud of our history of caring for our local
community, and providing advice, resources and expertise.
We’re especially committed to supporting expectant
families through the momentous occasion of birthing a
child, and providing hospital-level care in what feels like a
home environment.”
