MYCUE
RAMSAY VICTORIA
The Victorian entry proposed the development of
MyCue - a system to identify the deteriorating patient
and prevent falls in unmonitored patients in acute
medical surgical wards.
The device is being developed in partnership with
Planet Innovation, a leading Australian Health Tech
Innovation Company.
MyCue combines the use of a bed sensor and
wearable patch to detect a patient’s Heart Rate,
Respiratory Rate and Activity.
If the patients’ observations deviate outside set
parameters the nurse is alerted via an iPod.
Once the nurse is alerted of a change in condition the
nurse will be able to assess the patient and provide
early clinical intervention.
Linda Allen, Chief Executive Officer, Mitcham Private
Hospital said: “It is exciting for the company and the
hospital to be involved in the development of an
innovative product that will improve patient outcomes”
The Victorian Team and Planet Innovation have been
working together since the Shark Tank presentation
and are now ready to trial the prototype. Mitcham
Private Hospital will host a 2 day, 6 bed trial in
February 2018. The trial will be an opportunity to test
the product, and obtain feedback from nurses and
patients.
MY BABY+
RAMSAY NSW REGIONAL
With the goal of digital innovation around the maternity
experience, My Baby+ is endeavouring to fit with the overall
Ramsay Mums marketing strategy.
With so many options that could feature in this App the need
to identify key services that the app will initially deliver has
been the focus.
Following consultation with a number of NSW maternity
services, ante-natal education has been identified as an
opportunity worth delivering via the App. The Ramsay
Training Institute has developed a comprehensive e-learning
package and the team involved in this project are working
towards “appifying” this package as a key component of
Version 1 of My Baby+.
App design and costings are being explored at this time along
with how the App may interface with the numerous other RHC
maternity initiatives such as the Know Your Midwife Program.
ONLINE CHECK-IN
RAMSAY METRO NSW
The principle objective of this project is to make the
process of preparing for surgery as seamless and simple
as possible for both patients and doctors.
The initial phase has involved understanding the
technical components of the project and also the
willingness of our suppliers to engage with us.
This has included:
• Integration with Doctor Practices
• Building a portal for our Doctors to facilitate information
sharing and visibility
• Streamline the Patients online admission process
The initial focus of the project will be to deliver the
Doctor Portal, this will provide the foundation for the
rest of the functions. We have begun discussions with
the major clinical practice software vendors and are
working through the options to integrate their systems
into Ramsay.
Once this has been established we will be in a position
to proceed to undertaking trials with Doctors/Medical
Secretaries
This design work is well underway and looking to deliver
value to our Doctors in 2018.
Attadale Rehabilitation Hospital has made sustainability a
key focus with the implementation of a worm farm and a
proposed community therapy garden.
The worm farm is located onsite and is maintained by Attadale
Rehabilitation Hospital employee, Shaun Amozig, with assistance
from the environmental services team at the hospital.
Shaun commenced employment at Attadale Rehabilitation Hospital
in May through BizLink, a disability employment service, and his
role includes general duties as well as feeding the 2000 plus
worms, three times a week, from the hospital’s kitchen scraps.
The kitchen scraps are broken down by the worms and have been
providing organic worm casting and juice (worm wee!).
“Shaun does a fantastic job and it’s great to see the results. We’ve
used the worm juice on our roses at the front of the hospital and
they are thriving!” said Jane Case, Chief Executive Officer.
The worm juice is collected in recycled plastic bottles as part of
Attadale Rehabilitation Hospital’s environmental and sustainability
program. Shaun has also assisted in developing labels, with the
100% organic “Professor Shaun’s Worm Juice” now available
for sale among staff. Proceeds feed back into the worm farm
maintenance.
There are also plans to use the worm soil, produced through the
breakdown process, on the new community therapy garden. The
garden will include herbs that will be used by the hospital kitchen,
thereby completing the cycle of sustainability.
Planning for the garden is in its infancy and an invitation is
extended to staff and volunteers keen to be involved in the
garden’s working development group.
