CELEBRATES 5 YEARS
OF BIRTHS
For the first time, Ramsay Health
Care has launched a ground-breaking
national study to measure
patient-reported outcomes in
mental health.
With one in five Australians suffering from
a mental health condition every year,
there is a growing demand for effective
and efficient mental health services.
Ramsay’s new project is based on the
Depression and Anxiety dataset of the
International Consortium for Health
Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM).
Seven of the company’s Australian sites
are taking part in the study:
• Albert Road Clinic (Vic)
• Hollywood Private Hospital (WA)
• The Adelaide Clinic (SA)
• New Farm Clinic (Qld)
• Northside Clinic (NSW)
• The Southport Private Hospital (Qld)
• Warners Bay Private Hospital (NSW)
The ICHOM Mental Health Project is
entirely voluntary and participants must
be aged 18 years or older to take part.
Patients who are involved will be asked to
complete a range of surveys at required
time points to document their outcomes.
The project is funded by the Ramsay
Hospital Research Foundation and
governed by a National Steering
Committee consisting of representatives
from each participating hospital.
Professor Malcolm Hopwood (MBBS,
MPM, MD, FRANZCP) is the Chief
Investigator and Chair of the National
Steering Committee.
Neelma Narayan has been appointed as
the project’s National Coordinator.
