Ramsay National Pharmacy Manager Peter Giannopoulos said the newly constructed pharmacy was located on the ground floor of the hospital and offers a convenient range of pharmacy-related products including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, home healthcare aids, gifts, newspapers, magazines and flowers. The retail pharmacy will be open seven days a week excluding Christmas Day and Good Friday. In addition to the wide range of products available for sale the Ramsay Pharmacy will proudly offer a number of clinical pharmacy services including but not limited to the provision of medication management aids, comprehensive medication information, assistance with medical aids and appliances, discharge medication profiles and in the not too distant future the pharmacy will be accredited as an authorised agent of the National Diabetes Services Scheme. “A considerable amount of planning and design work has been invested to create a refreshing and contemporary retail experience,” Peter said. “Some 18 months of work behind the scenes has gone into the planning and preparation to allow the first Ramsay branded store to be designed and constructed. “The striking design of the store is a result of design input by architectural design group Parker Design. “The Ramsay Pharmacy Services team workshopped the store designs and retail concepts extensively which have resulted in some unique and professional retail finishes. This includes the introduction of the targeted solutions pod, designed as a destination within the store which will bring together chronic disease states and products in one central area.” He said the Ramsay Pharmacy franchise model presents pharmacists with an opportunity to provide expert clinical pharmacy services within a modern retail pharmacy model which clearly reveres the value of the clinical and professional pharmacy services offered within the retail pharmacy setting’.
