Darren Ninness has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer, Tamara Private Hospital in Tamworth. Darren replaces Annette Arthur, who will be retiring later this year after 30 plus years of wonderful, loyal service to Ramsay Health Care. Darren joined Tamara as its Finance Manager in 2010 and has been an integral part of the hospital’s success over the last four years. Darren joined Ramsay Health Care from Landmark where he was the Financial Controller for its NSW stores. He has lived and worked in Tamworth for 20 years and is a qualified CPA. Darren commenced as the CEO of Tamara Private on 1 June 2014. Penny Wright has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer, Mt Wilga Private Hospital. Penny replaces Jude Emmer, who recently became CEO of Noosa Hospital. Penny has worked for Ramsay for 14 years, the last five years as Director of Clinical Services for Westmead Private Hospital. Penny commenced as the CEO of Mt. Wilga on 9 June 2014. MOVEMENTS&APPOINTMENTS Shane Mitchell has been appointed to the position of CEO, Ramsay Cairns Hospitals. This includes Cairns Private Hospital, Cairns Day Surgery and The Cairns Clinic. Shane commenced with Ramsay Health Care as NUM of the Emergency Department at John Flynn Private Hospital. Shane graduated from the very first Ramsay Future Leaders program in 2008 and soon after secured his current position as CEO of Nambour Selangor Private Hospital. During his tenure at Nambour, Shane has successfully navigated the hospital through a very turbulent period of change, including the closure of its Intensive Care Unit, the closure of its maternity services and the establishment of Nambour as a major rehabilitation facility for the Sunshine Coast. Shane also led the commissioning of a new day surgery procedure room and day oncology service at Nambour. Shane commenced in Cairns on Monday 30th June 2014. Trish has worked at Tamara since 2008 and has recently relieved as the Director of Clinical Service. Trish has been a Tamworth resident for many years and has established networks both internally and externally of Tamara Private. Trish was instrumental in establishing the rehabilitation unit which opened in May of 2013 following the closure of the Obstetric Service. Trish has completed a PhD (Flinders) and a Master of Health Science, she a has a strong background in both education and management and will continue to steer the educational needs of Tamara while maintaining a strong nursing service and providing the high level of patient care which Tamara is famous for. Chris Junge has been appointed the new Director of Clinical Services at St Andrew’s Ipswich Private hospital. Chris was previously the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory Manager at St Andrew’s having moved from Greenslopes Private Hospital in November 2013 to commission the new lab at St Andrew’s. Chris celebrates his 10th anniversary with Ramsay recently. During his time in the company, Chris has held various roles including Cath Lab NUM, Surgical Ward NUM, Acting ED NUM, Hospital Coordinator/ Bed Manager. Matthew completed his Bachelor of Nursing in 1999 and joined Ramsay Health Care in the New Graduate Program in 2000 at St George Private Hospital. Following his completion of the New Grad program, Matthew quickly moved into the Peri-operative environment and in 2005 he was promoted to the position of Peri-operative NUM at Kareena Private Hospital. Over these last 9 years he has contributed strongly to the growth of clinical services and the Hospital’s major developments at Kareena. In 2010, Matthew completed the Ramsay Future Leaders program and was able to put this academic experience to great use over this last 6 months as a relief DCS at Kareena Private Hospital. Steven comes to Kareena with strong and proven Hospital CEO experience having completed this last three years as the CEO of Cairns Private Hospital, Cairns Day Surgery and Cairns Clinic (known as the Cairns Hospital Group). Prior to this, Steven was the CEO/ DCS at Dudley Private Hospital in Orange NSW for three years. Steven completed his Masters in Health Management in 2005, the Ramsay Future Leaders Program in 2008 and the Singapore Management University, Hospital Management Program in 2012.
