Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to helping others. We provide training and ongoing support to ensure volunteers feel confident in their roles.

Volunteers roles

Our volunteers play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and visitors. They provide practical assistance and companionship in a variety of ways, including: 

  • Patient support– Offering comfort and assistance to patients during their stay. 
  • Visitor guidance– Providing directions and information to help patients and visitors navigate the hospital. 
  • Book, magazine and puzzle distribution– Bringing reading materials and activities to patients. 
  • Justice of the Peace (JP) service– Assisting with document certification. 
  • Flower care– Looking after floral arrangements for patients. 
  • Newspaper delivery– Ensuring patients receive daily newspapers. 
  • Visitor transport– Helping visitors move around the hospital easily. 
  • Meal assistance– Assisting in meal distribution for patients undergoing day procedures. 
  • Front-of-house support– Greeting and assisting visitors at the main entrance. 
  • Administrative support– Helping with office tasks as needed.
