Accessing Ramsay Home Health: Steps to begin your at-home care
Ramsay Home Health services are available to adult patients with private health insurance, though coverage may vary by insurer. To start, you will need a referral from your doctor or a healthcare professional. Here’s what to expect: Click the plus sign (+) on the right side of each heading to expand and view more information.
STEP 1: Discuss your options with your doctor or health care team
During your hospital stay or before admission, talk with your doctor or health care team about the benefits of receiving care or rehabilitation at home. Together, you can decide if a Ramsay Home Health program is the right choice for you and if you live within our service areas.
STEP 2: Referral form submission
Your doctor or health care team will complete and send a referral form to Ramsay Home Health.
STEP 3: Confirmation of your referral
After submitting the referral, you’ll receive a confirmation email within 2 to 4 hours. From there, our team will confirm your health fund coverage, eligibility and send a final confirmation email once everything is approved.
While health fund approval often takes less than 24 hours, starting your referral early helps to avoid delays. Throughout this process, our Ramsay Home Health care coordinators will keep both you and your doctor informed.
