My approach to patient care was shaped through working closely with nationally and internationally respected gastroenterologists. My philosophy of care is based on an empowering partnership through listening to your concerns with an open mind and empathy. I enhance your care by providing the most up-to-date evidence based medical practice, and a personalised lateral thinking approach to problem solving, in a supportive environment. I practice holistic care, understanding that everyone has different needs to achieve a realistic outcome.

A/Prof Thomas Lee is a consultant Gastroenterologist with with further training in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). He is a clinical Associate Professor with the school of medicine at University of Wollongong providing lectures to medical students on gastroenterology and hepatology.

Qualifying as a gastroenterologist in 2008, Thomas trained at Wollongong hospital and then completed further training in IBD through Box Hill Hospital, Monash University, Melbourne. Furthermore, he completed a Master of Science and advanced IBD fellowship through the University of Alberta, Canada in 2011. He was a senior staff specialist at Wollongong public hospital 2012 -2022, now exclusively in private practice.

Thomas is a reviewer of Inflammatory bowel disease journal. He has published in Gut, Alimentary pharmacology and therapeutics, Journal of Crohn’s colitis, Gastroenterology Research and Practice and Internal medicine journal of Australia. He is part of the Australian IBD association (AIBD-A) network.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), coeliac disease, general gastroenterology, national bowel cancer screening, gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
