Dr Guillermo Regalo

Dr. Guillermo (Bill) Regalo is a general surgeon who works at Belmont, John Hunter and Lake Macquarie Private Hospitals.

Dr. Regalo grew up in the Lake Macquarie area. He trained in the Hunter Network as a Surgical Registrar and obtained Fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014. Dr. Regalo completed Fellowship Training in Breast Surgery in 2014 as well as oncoplastic courses at the Royal College of Surgeons in London in 2015. He has been a consultant General Surgeon with an interest in breast surgery at The Breast Centre since 2015 and is currently employed as Director of Surgery for Belmont Hospital.

In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Regalo is heavily involved in surgical training and education. He worked for two years as the Clinical Superintendent in the Department of Surgery at John Hunter Hospital (2013 and 2015). He is also the current Training Supervisor for Belmont Hospital and on the Court of Examiners for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Dr. Regalo provides a range of both general surgery and breast surgery options for patients. He is GESA accredited in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy and trained in both open and laparoscopic general surgical procedures. His subspecialty focus in breast surgery is on the treatment, screening and surveillance of breast cancer.
