Dr Sheanna Maine

Dr Sheanna Maine practices NWPH and Queensland Children's Hospital as a Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon and in adult lower limb Orthopaedic Surgery. Sheanna has an interest in lower limb deformity correction and is a member of the Australian Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society as well as the Australian Paediatric Orthopaedic Society. She worked in General Paediatric Orthopaedics, Limb Reconstruction and Cerebral Palsy with some of the most eminent specialists in their fields. 

Dr Maine Maine manages a broad range of conditions including hip and knee arthroplasty, adult and paediatric knee pathologies including patellofemoral maltracking, ACL injuries, osteochondral defects, and meniscal injury in the adolescent, general paediatric orthopaedics and paediatric lower limb deformity and reconstruction.

Dr Maine has published multiple articles in peer reviewed journals over the last five years, written book chapters, and was a keynote speaker for the ANZ ORS meeting in 2021. She is secretary of the Australian Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society, Faculty member of the Australian Paediatric Orthopaedic Society and the first female member of the Australian Knee Society.

Dr. Maine has been awarded an Adjunct Associate Professorship at Griffith University having researched extensively into the biomechanics of the patellofemoral joint and has collaborated with the Children’s Health Queensland Gait Laboratory to develop of pioneering techniques in assessing the consequences of lower limb malalignment on patellofemoral dislocation.
 

Sheanna completed her Medical degree in 2002 and trained in Orthopaedic Surgery in QLD, from 2007 achieving FRACS in 2010. She undertook a fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics at the Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne in 2012.
