Dr Alistair Varidel is an Australian-trained Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with expertise in corrective jaw surgery. Combining dual qualifications in Dentistry (University of Queensland) and Medicine (University of Sydney) with fellowships at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Dr Varidel offers specialised care across the full spectrum of oral and maxillofacial conditions.
Dr Varidel is passionate about helping patients achieve both functional improvement and aesthetic confidence. But it's not just about the surgery—it’s about the experience. He takes time to understand each patient’s concerns, ensuring they feel heard and comfortable throughout their treatment journey.
His expertise was further enhanced through prestigious fellowships at Boston Children’s Hospital (Harvard) in Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery and at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Facial Trauma and Orthognathic Surgery, following his Advanced Training at the Royal Hobart and Royal Adelaide Hospitals.
Now practising as a Consultant Surgeon in both public and private settings, Dr Varidel specialises in corrective jaw surgery while providing comprehensive care for oral lesions, salivary gland conditions, TMJ pathology, facial asymmetry, clefts, wisdom teeth extractions, and dental implants.
With a commitment to cutting-edge techniques, Dr Varidel ensures his patients benefit from the most current, evidence-based treatments available, all delivered with the perfect balance of technical precision and genuine compassion.
In his spare time Al enjoys exploring the Sunshine Coast and camping.
