Dr Andrew Wines performs reconstructive, arthroscopic, minimally invasive and trauma surgery of the foot and ankle in adults and children. He has performed over 350 ankle replacements, the most of any surgeon in Australia.
Dr Wines graduated from the University of Sydney in 1994. After obtaining his fellowship in orthopaedic surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2002 he travelled to Dublin, Bristol and Oxford for subspecialty training in foot and ankle surgery.
Dr Wines serves on the boards of the Medical Benevolent Association of NSW and ACT, the Australian Orthopaedic Association, Knox Grammar School, and St John Ambulance NSW. He was the founding Treasurer of the International Orthopaedic Diversity Alliance. He is a Churchill Fellow and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is the director of the Sydney Foot and Ankle Fellowship.
On Australia Day 2026 he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his for significant service to orthopaedic surgery, and to the community.
Dr Wines has published numerous book chapters and peer reviewed journal articles and is frequently invited to present at local and international conferences.
