About
Dr Wong is a psychiatrist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. She sees patients from ages 16 and above and has a special interest in mood disorders (depression and bipolar affective disorder), anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, psychotic disorders and substance use and addictive disorders.
Originally from Canada, Dr Wong obtained her MBBS and MD at the University of New South Wales, before completing her psychiatry training within Northern Sydney Local Health District. She is currently completing her Certificate of Advanced Training in Addiction Psychiatry. Alongside her private practice, Dr Wong works as a VMO in public addiction medicine in rural Orange, NSW, as well as the outreach virtual service for the greater NSW regions, reflecting a commitment to psychiatric care across both metropolitan and rural settings. Dr Wong provides teaching to medical students as well as supervision to psychiatry registrars in training.
Dr Wong’s provides patient centred, holistic care, whose practice is centred on the belief that every patient's journey is different. She strives to understand each person's individual needs and circumstances, applying a biopsychosocial formulation to guide evidence-based treatment, psychological therapies, optimising lifestyle interventions and integrating pharmacotherapy when needed.
