Dr Ankur Dhar is an Australian-trained urological surgeon based in Sydney, with a special interest in uro-oncology, robotic surgery, kidney stone disease, and prostate conditions.
He completed his medical and urology training in NSW before undertaking an accredited Uro-Oncology Fellowship at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in the United Kingdom, where he gained extensive experience in robotic and open surgery for prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer, as well as advanced robotic reconstructive urology.
Dr Dhar is also actively involved in surgical research and teaching, helping to train the next generation of urologists. He believes in shared decision-making, working with patients to choose the right treatment for them and favouring minimally invasive options where appropriate. His care is compassionate, personalised, and evidence-based, drawing on the latest medical and surgical advances.
Dr Dhar consults at Strathfield Private, Campsie, and Westmead Private, and operates at Canterbury Hospital (public) as well as Strathfield Private and Westmead Private. Urgent cases will be seen within 48 hours.
