Dr Ashish Diwan

Dr Diwan is Director of Spine Service  at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, St George Hospital, University of New South Wales. He completed his fellowship in Spine and Scoliosis Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Cornell University, New York NY.

Dr Diwan was awarded the prestigious Phillip D Wilson Award, National Orthopaedic Surgery Fellows Foundation Award and the Merril Lynch Global Innovation Award for his research work and outstanding achievements in the field.

Dr Diwan is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in spine surgery for degenerative disorders of the back and neck and in spinal deformities (scoliosis & kyphosis). His expertise includes minimally invasive intradiscal treatments, microscopic spinal decompression, spinal stabilisation using computer guidance, anterior and posterior surgery of adult spinal deformity. Total disc replacement, microdiscectomy and spinal fusions are most commonly performed.
