Dr Azhar Munas

Dr Munas is origninally from Sydney and developed a passion for practicing medicine in the country during medical school at the University of Sydney. He started his medical career at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital in 2006 and did specialty training at the Calvary Mater Hospital Newcastle and spent two years training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Dr Munas spent seven years in Cairns as a specialist Haematologist and is very excited to return to practice in Tamworth. 
Dr Munas is an excellent communicator, able to explain complex concepts to patients and their families to get the best outcome in line with their wishes. He is a member of the Haeamatology Society of Australia and New Zealand, the European Haematology Association and the American Society of Haematology.
