About
Dr McGrath obtained his medical degree from the University of New South Wales in 2005. He has subsequently worked and trained in the Hunter New England health system for 9 years.
He has a particular interest in sports injuries, joint preservation and shoulder, elbow, and knee arthroplasty.
He has completed an Australian fellowship in shoulder, elbow and knee reconstruction.
Ben also travelled to Vancouver, Canada, where he completed a 12 month fellowship in Arthroscopic Sports Reconstruction and joint preservation. Dr McGrath is working on techniques for shorter hospital stays and more comfortable rehabilitation.
Dr McGrath is committed to teaching through his affiliation with the University of Newcastle and his public appointment at Maitland Base Hospital.
