Dr Brett Marshall

Brett graduated from Monash University in 1980 and completed specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at Queen Victoria Medical Centre/Monash Medical Centre/Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, achieving the Board of Examiners prize for the Membership in 1987. He then continued post graduate training in the UK, completing subspecialty training in advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery.
 
Brett has been in practice on the Mornington Peninsula for over 30 years and has appointments at Peninsula Private Hospital and Beleura Private Hospital. He is also a senior consultant gynaecologist at the Royal Women’s Hospital. Over this time Brett has accumulated extensive experience in his special interests of advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, treating all stages of complax endometriosis utilising CO2 laser excisional surgery as well as other modalities. Brett has performed over 5000 operative laparoscopies including laparascopic myomectomies (fibroids), division of adhesions and 95% of hysterectomies are laparoscopic (keyhole). Brett is also recognised for his subspecialty expertise in advanced hysteroscopic surgery including resection of fibroids, polyps, endometrial resection and treatment of uterine abnormalities, teaching this surgery to other gynaecologists. Brett is also involved in mentoring and teaching gynaecology trainees at the Royal Women’s Hospital. He has broad experience in general gynaecology and performs pelvic floor and incontinence surgery. Brett is also an experienced colposcopist, utilising CO2 laser treatment for abnormal pap smears.

Brett has recently completed an audit of 1000 patients who underwent endometrial ablation via resection, with 30 years follow up, showing world class success, safety and results, presented at the RANZCOG ASM 2019.
