Dr Chester Yeoh

Mitcham Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Chester Yeoh, obstetrician and gynaecologist. Having trained in Melbourne and England, Chester brings a wealth of experience in his practice in Gynaecology.

He specialises in single incision keyhole technique for major laparoscopic surgery, unlike the normal method where multiple cuts are made. Using this approach, only one small cut is made in the belly button area to undertake major surgery like removal of ovarian cysts, ovaries, ectopic pregnancy and even hysterectomy. Often the recovery using this technique is less painful and the cosmetic results are far superior. It is a technique he routinely offers in appropriate cases.

Chester’s philosophy includes individualisation of care with support for the individual and the family though times that may be emotionally challenging. Involving his patients in the decision making process is an integral part of his commitment to helping them understand and resolve the problems that confront them.

In addition to his private practice, he also works as a Consultant at the Box Hill Hospital, having previously held the position of Head of one of the Obstetric units there.
