DR CHRISTOPHER SMITH

Christopher graduated with honours from medical school at the University of Sydney, before undertaking his Obstetrics & Gynaecology specialist training at Royal North Shore Hospital. He has also completed a two-year AGES-approved Fellowship in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy with the Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery Unit.

Christopher has expertise in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He is an advocate of normal childbirth and can provide high-risk obstetric care. Christopher has an interest in benign gynaecology including the management of menstrual dysfunction and abnormal cervical screening. He also has advanced training in minimally invasive surgical techniques for the treatment of infertility, endometriosis, pelvic floor dysfunction, and urinary incontinence.

Christopher was awarded the 2012 AGES/Covidien travelling fellowship in the field of Robotic Surgery. He remains heavily involved in clinical research and teaching, most recently being awarded the 2013 RANZCOG Shan S Ratnam Australian Young Gynaecologist Award. Christopher is on the RANZCOG Board of Examiners. He is also the current Deputy Chair of the North Shore Private Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
