Dr Chung Won

Dr Chung Won is an Australian-trained General Surgeon with further fellowship training in laparoscopic,upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. Originally from South Korea, Dr Won was schooled in Sydney before graduating from University of NSW. Dr Won moved to Brisbane in 2005 to commence formal training in General Surgery. After obtaining further qualifications in 2009, Dr Won undertook 3 years of fellowship training in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Brisbane.

Dr Won started working as a Staff Specialist at Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) in 2012. He currently holds appointments at multiple hospitals including Greenslopes Private Hospital, PAH, QE2 Jubilee, and Mater Hospitals. He’s actively involved in teaching of surgical trainees and medical students. Dr Won also holds a position as a Senior Lecturer at The University of Queensland.

Dr Won is one of very few surgeons providing bariatric surgery for public and private patients – public bariatric patients are based on a strict criteria. Dr Won is happy to be contacted for any formal orinformal advice.
