About

Dr Whalley is a Senior Lecturer in Cardiology at the University of Sydney and has been a cardiologist practising cardiac electrophysiology for over 25 years. He has experience in the diagnosis and management of cardiac arrhythmias using electrophysiological studies and catheter ablation techniques. He has performed over 12,000 electrophysiological procedures encompassing the full range of arrhythmias including SVT, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. He has over 25 years experience with follow-up of implantable pacemakers and defibrillators.

He also performs transoesophageal echocardiography and has an interest in catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter and supraventricular tachycardia. His other focussed interest is in the investigation and management of syncope. He has undertaken research in cardiac cellular electrophysiology and has been an investigator in several multicentre research trials investigating new antiarrhythmic drugs.
