Clinical Practice
Dr Deila Dedic is a Specialist Endocrinologist with a clinical focus in metabolic syndrome, including diabetes mellitus and obesity, particularly in patients with complex comorbidities. She holds certification with the Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education (SCOPE), World Obesity Federation. Dr Dedic is involved in clinical nutrition and metabolic syndrome research and management through membership of relevant professional organisations. She consults patients in English, Bosnian, Italian, and French. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Dedic contributes to medical education through teaching and mentoring medical students and junior doctors. She is a tutor at The University of Notre Dame Australia and participates in Junior Medical Officer teaching at Hollywood Private Hospital.
Background and Training
Dr Dedic holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) and then completed her medical degree (MBBS) at The University of Western Australia as a postgraduate qualification in 2010. She undertook specialist training in Endocrinology at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Fiona Stanley Hospital, and Monash Health in Melbourne. During her Fellowship (FRACP) year in 2020, she worked within the Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism Unit.
