Dr Elayne Ooi is a consultant urologist providing comprehensive, contemporary urological care with a strong emphasis on clear communication, shared decision-making, and individualised treatment. Her practice combines evidence-based medicine with modern treatment options to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients. Dr Ooi sees patients privately at Swan Urology, with private hospital care provided at Hollywood Private Hospital and also holds public appointments at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Osborne Park Hospital. Dr Ooi consults on a wide range of urological conditions including Prostate conditions, Male Urinary tract problems, Bladder issue including cancer and dysfunction, Pelvic dysfunction, Male infertility and family planning issues.

Dr Ooi has opened a new Multidisciplinary Care for Complex Bladder and Pelvic Conditions Clinic, designed to provide coordinated, shared-care planning for patients with complex bladder and pelvic health needs. The clinic brings together a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, including specialists in Urology, Gynaecology, Pain Medicine, Clinical Psychology, Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, Infectious Diseases, and Nurse Practitioners, who work collaboratively to deliver comprehensive, patient-centred care. 

 

Background & Training

Elayne grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and was awarded a scholarship to study medicine at the University of Adelaide, graduating in 1999. Drawn to hands-on, collaborative work, she pursued a surgical career and chose urology for its breadth of practice and rapid technological advancement. She completed a fellowship in robotic surgery in 2012 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Elayne is a Senior Instructor with the Emergency Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) program and a member of several professional organisations, including USANZ, EAU, AMA, and the Academy of Surgical Educators. She has also held leadership roles at Hollywood Private Hospital, including Chair of the Urology Craft Group and membership on the Credentialling and Medical Advisory Committees.
