Dr Gagan Swami

After completing his basic and advanced training in the UK where he joined as a Respiratory and General Medicine Consultant at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital in 2020. He was the lead of Long-Term Ventilation service, Sleep Medicine and Respiratory High Dependency Unit responsible for the service development, teaching and supervision of trainees. He received clinical excellence award for his contribution towards COVID pandemic as a new consultant with subspecialty interest in Mechanical Ventilation. He has been passionate in education and contributed to the tutoring of medical students. He was a Principal Investigator for the Gloucestershire site for research involving sleep medicine and COPD, and has continued the role of Principal Investigator for a project involving Interstitial Lung Disease at Cairns Hospital.

Dr Swami is a consultant at Cairns Hospital and is now looking forward and committed to provide excellent respiratory medicine services in the private sector.
