About
Dr Keighley is an Australian trained orthopaedic surgeon, with interests in robotic assisted hip and knee arthroplasty, soft tissue injuries of the knee and general orthopaedic trauma.
Raised on a sheep farm outside of Cooma, in the Snowy Mountains of NSW, Dr Keighley attended the University of NSW as an undergraduate medical student and spent three years of medical school in Port Macquarie. After his formative medical years in Sydney, he undertook a rotation through The Tweed Hospital as part of his Orthopaedic Training and fell in love with the Northern Rivers and Southern Gold Coast.
He completed his orthopaedic training and a Fellowship in Hip and Knee Surgery, with a focus on robotic surgery, in Canberra with well-respected surgeons Dr Damian Smith, Dr Tom Ward and Dr Michael Gross. He then stayed on to work as a Locum Surgeon in The Canberra Hospital, the major trauma referral centre for the ACT and Southern NSW. In addition to this he has a Masters of Traumatology through the University of Newcastle and a number of additional skills courses that can be found on his curriculum vitae.
