Dr Helen Nicholson

Dr Helen Nicholson is a Urologist servicing the Illawarra Shoalhaven region. She studied medicine at Sydney University and completed her Australian Urological training in NSW. She was awarded her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons 2017. She completed a one year fellowship in Manchester, UK, with advanced training in laparoscopic and robotic oncology.

Her main interests include:

• Robotic pelvic oncology – prostatectomy, cystectomy, pelvic lymphadenectomy
• Robotic partial nephrectomy, pyeloplasty
• Laparoscopic nephrectomy
• Prostate, renal and urothelial cancer – diagnosis and management
• Endourology including stones, BPH surgery (TURP, GLL prostatectomy), bladder tumours

Helen grew up in the Blue Mountains, and married a South Coast local. She aims to be approachable and accessible, while providing modern and high quality urological care. She is available for appointments through South Coast Urology.
