Dr Hong Yu

Hong Yu is an experienced Specialist Physician, Geriatrician and Rehabilitation Physician dedicated to helping patients regain function, independence and quality of life following illness, injury or surgery. He provides inpatient rehabilitation services at Albury Wodonga Private Hospital and maintains a general medical and geriatric medicine practice serving the Albury-Wodonga region.

 

Dr Yu is highly experienced in the assessment, admission and management of patients requiring inpatient rehabilitation or structured day rehabilitation programs. His patient-centred approach focuses on maximising recovery, improving functional outcomes and supporting patients to safely return to their homes and communities.

 

Working within a multidisciplinary team environment, Dr Yu provides comprehensive rehabilitation care for patients recovering from orthopaedic surgery, stroke, cardiac illness, cancer treatment, acute medical conditions and complex hospital admissions. He has a particular interest in helping older adults maintain independence, mobility and wellbeing through evidence-based rehabilitation and geriatric medicine services.

 

In addition to inpatient rehabilitation, Dr Yu supports a range of day rehabilitation programs that assist patients to continue their recovery in an outpatient setting. These programs focus on improving strength, endurance, mobility and overall functional capacity, enabling patients to achieve optimal long-term outcomes. 

 

As a geriatrician, Dr Yu has a strong professional interest in promoting healthy ageing and supporting frail older adults through comprehensive assessment and tailored treatment plans. He works closely with general practitioners, specialists, nursing staff, allied health professionals and family members to ensure coordinated, holistic care for every patient.
