Dr Hugh McGregor

 

Dr Hugh McGregor is a young “old fashioned” General Surgeon providing state of the art techniques to treat common problems. He prides himself on delivering a full quality General Surgery and Endoscopy service.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

Hugh completed his Medical Degree with first class honours from the University of Queensland in 2000. He then completed and was awarded a PhD from Monash University.

Following several years as a scholarship holder in rural and regional Queensland, he was trained at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital and at various hospitals throughout QLD. At the Royal Brisbane, Hugh received extensive training in many areas of General Surgery, including breast surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery.

He also trained in colonoscopy and upper endoscopy and is certified in both by the Gastrointestinal Society of Australia.

Since early 2009, Hugh has been a Consultant General Surgeon at The Redcliffe Hospital. He sits on the QLD Regional Board of General Surgery and is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery at the University of QLD.

As well as consulting and operating at North West Private Hospital,  Hugh consults at Kippa Ring, Caboolture and North Lakes.
