About
Dr John Chetwood is a specialist gastroenterologist and hepatologist committed to delivering expert, compassionate care for people with digestive and liver conditions. He has broad clinical experience across Australia, the UK, and New Zealand, with additional work in Africa and India.
He completed specialist training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, followed by advanced fellowships in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at Concord and St Vincent’s Hospitals. He is currently completing a PhD focused on improving treatments for IBD, supported by an NHMRC scholarship.
Dr Chetwood performs a range of procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, balloon enteroscopy, and intestinal ultrasound. He also participates in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program and presents regularly at national and international conferences.
