Dr John Choi

John Choi has an established private Orthopaedic surgery practice in the Mornington Peninsula region. He uses state-of-the-art techniques and minimally invasive surgical options to treat his patients. He is a firm believer in the ethos “treat patients as they are your family members, no patients should be subjected to outdated methods of surgical treatments”.

Dr Choi was the first Globus Excelsius Robot Spine Surgeon in the southern hemisphere in 2019 and was the first surgeon in Australia to offer Biportal Spine Endoscopy in 2020 an has since performed over 300 robotic spine surgeries and 100 endoscopic spine surgeries and teaches surgeons regularly and promotes the methods through various international and national meetings.

Dr Choi also has intellectual patents in the field of spine instrumentation and engaged in several development projects with multinational enterprises to innovate spine surgery and has commercially launched several products globally which are in everyday surgical use helping patient outcomes.
