Dr Jonathan Banks

Dr Jonathan Banks is a Specialist in Respiratory, Sleep and General Medicine with an interest in asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, chronic cough and breathlessness, pleural and pulmonary vascular disease, and sleep disorders.

Jon has advanced procedural skills including intercostal and indwelling pleural catheter insertion, non-invasive ventilation, flexible bronchoscopy, convex and radial EBUS, and interventional techniques such as cryotherapy, APC and electrocautery.

Jon is a Staff Specialist in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Gold Coast University Hospital and a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University. He is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, the European Respiratory Society and the Australasian Sleep Association, and is a Justice of the Peace.
