Dr Kathleen Kan graduated from Monash University in 1995 and underwent training in nephrology at Austin Health and Monash Medical Centre. She completed her training in nephrology in 2003. She subsequently spent 2 years at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Austin Health which specialises in investigation and management of patients with blood pressure disorders.
Dr Kathleen Kan has an interest in the management of chronic kidney disease because of the continuity of patient care from the time of diagnosis until dialysis or transplantation. Regular specialist monitoring of renal function and intervention has been shown to help delay the progression of renal failure.
Dr Kathleen Kan also works publically as a renal and internal medicine physician at Box Hill Hospital.
