Dr Kathleen Soeyland is a specialist in general, breast, and endocrine surgery, practising at Port Macquarie Base Hospital, Kempsey District Hospital, Wauchope Memorial Hospital, and Port Macquarie Private Hospital. In 2006, she completed her medical degree at the University of Newcastle and achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2017. Thereafter, she undertook advanced training in General Surgery in Port Macquarie and further specialised training in Breast and Endocrine Surgery at The Alfred in Melbourne. She also holds a Master of Surgery in breast disease and teaches with the UNSW Rural Medical School.
Her clinical work includes breast cancer surgery—both standard and oncoplastic techniques—along with surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid conditions, melanoma, and a broad range of general procedures such as endoscopy, minimally invasive gallbladder and hernia operations, and other abdominal surgeries. Dr Soeyland participates actively in multidisciplinary cancer teams and is widely recognised for her personalised, compassionate approach to patient care.
