Dr. Lawrence Cai is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician with clinical expertise in various conditions, including asthma, COPD, pulmonary nodules, lung cancer assessment, pleural disease, obstructive sleep apnoea, and complex sleep disorders. He is also experienced in interventional respiratory procedures, including fibreoptic bronchoscopy, linear endobronchial ultrasound-guided biopsy (EBUS), and pleural procedures.
Dr. Cai completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales, followed by specialist physician training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, and St George Hospital. He has also obtained a Master of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) through the University of Sydney, with a focus on evidence-based clinical practice.
He holds an honorary medical officer appointment at St George Hospital, and has an academic appointment with the University of New South Wales. He is actively involved in the education of medical students and junior medical staff at St George Hospital.
