Dr Lay Gan consults from Hunter Gastroenterology and practices in gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr Gan has public and private appointments.
Dr Gan first came to Newcastle in 2006 and at that time completed her physician training and commenced her gastroenterology and hepatology training. She then progressed to a fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital before undertaking PhD studies. Dr Gan returned to Newcastle and settled here in 2013.
Dr Gan trains future doctors through her appointment as a Staff Specialist at the John Hospital. She provides holistic patient-centred care, ensuring patients are actively involved in their care and decision processes.
When Dr Gan is not busy at work, she enjoys cooking all kinds of cuisines, especially those from her home country in Malaysia.
