Dr Leen van Schoor

Dr Leendert (Leen) van Schoor is a General Surgeon with over 25 years of Surgical Experience and has special interests in Laparoscopic Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Thyroid Surgery, Breast Cancer Surgery as well as Bariatric Surgery. Dr van Schoor completed his Surgical training in 1996 in Cape Town and has practised extensively in South Africa, England and Canada before relocating to Australia in 2013.

Dr van Schoor is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Dr van Schoor is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), BreastSurgANZ, Australia New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS ) and belongs to the Oncological and Colorectal Sections of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Currently Dr van Schoor operates at Tamara Private Hospital, Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital and Gunnedah District Hospital, for both Public and Private Patients. Dr van Schoor together with his wife, has made Tamworth his home and is passionate about providing an extensive surgical service to his patients in Tamworth and New England areas. Away from work he is a keen trekker and cyclist.
