Dr. Mahmoud Al-Najjar is a skilled professional with certifications in Vascular Surgery, General Practice, and Rural Generalism.  He is particularly interested in advanced techniques and procedures within vascular surgery, focusing on minimally invasive methods to improve patient outcomes. His expertise spans a wide range of vascular treatments, ensuring comprehensive and holistic care for his patients. Dr Al-Najjar holds a public appointment at Geraldton Regional Hospital and is accredited at Hollywood Private Hospital.

 

Background

Dr. Al-Najjar has a rich international background. He lived in Ottawa, Canada, before moving to Australia to advance his medical career. He earned his Bachelor of Science (Medicine) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. He has had extensive training in vascular surgery in Australia and received his Vascular fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS Vasc) in 2023.

 

During this time he has worked alongside many renowned surgeons and is also an active member of professional organisations like the Australian and New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgeons (ANZSVS) and the ANZ Society of Phlebology. He is a member of the RACS WA State Committee and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). He also specialises as a Rural Generalist under the Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP) program.

 

Research & Training

With over 18 years of surgical experience, Dr. Al-Najjar has worked in various regional areas in Queensland and Western Australia, gaining valuable insights into rural healthcare. He is dedicated to medical and surgical education, serving as a vascular examiner and a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia Medical School. He also teaches in several surgical courses, including the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course by the American College of Surgeons.
