Dr Marcus Foo graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2000 and trained in Radiation Oncology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He then undertook a Clinical and Research Fellowship at the BC Cancer Agency in Vancouver, Canada. His clinical interests included gastro-intestinal (GI), breast, and genito-urinary oncology. At this time, he was the principal and co-investigator in research projects in anal cancer and prostate cancer plus a prospective phase II trial about radiation therapy techniques for multiple brain metastases.
He subsequently returned to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne as a consultant Radiation Oncologist in the GI/Sarcoma team, prior to joining GenesisCare in 2014. He consults at the GenesisCare, Frankston and Berwick centres.
Marcus has a clinical research interest in gastro-intestinal cancers, and has published in international and national peer-reviewed journals. He has further interests in types of radiation therapy technologies such as stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and image guided radiation therapy (IGRT).
