About
Dr Mark McDonald is a graduate of the University of Queensland. He completed his internship residency at the Royal Canberra Hospital. He then undertook advanced training in general surgery and neurosurgery in Australia and South Africa. He went on to complete his ophthalmic training in Adelaide and Melbourne.
He has been practicing Ophthalmology in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions since 2003. Dr Mark McDonald is also a senior visiting medical officer at the Wollongong and Shoalhaven Hospitals with busy private practices in Nowra and Kiama.
He has interests in the latest techniques in small incisions, cataract surgery, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. He has published in local and international peer reviewed journals.
South Coast Ophthalmology services the Shoalhaven and Illawarra communities at the Nowra and Kiama Clinics.
