Dr Matthew D.A. Horton is a cardiothoracic surgeon with a special interest in VATS (Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery), aortic surgery, valve surgery and bypass surgery.
After graduating from Sydney University and completing his Fellowship at Oxford, he was appointed as a consultant surgeon at St Vincent's and St George Hospital. He continues to work at St George Hospital and also at St George Private Hospital where he sits on the Medical Advisory Committee. Dr Horton passionately supports the Knights of St George, a registered charity set up in 1985 by has father Dr David Horton (a former cardiothoracic surgeon). This charity has to date raised over $1.25m for life-saving equipment for the Cardiothoracic Unit at St George Hospital.
