Dr Nandini Somanathan

Nandini completed her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in the United Kingdom at the Royal Hallamshire hospital in Sheffield. Having worked in the UK for a while she decided to move to sunny Australia and never regretted it. Nandini has been working in Newcastle since 2007.

She has a keen interest in the well being of women of all ages. Hence she provides care from adolescents to menopause.
 

Being a mother of 2 boys and having experienced motherhood herself Dr Somanathan is capable of understanding and appreciating women's choices in pregnancy and delivery.

Dr Nandini Somanathan works not only as a private practitioner, but as a part time senior staff specialist at John Hunter Hospital. She is also the training supervisor and mentor for junior doctors in training. This enables her to keep up-to-date with current practices and recent advances in the speciality.
