About
Nathan grew up on the Gold Coast and completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science at Griffith University, where he was awarded the Exercise Science Medal for graduating at the top of his class. He subsequently completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Griffith University, graduating with First Class Honours and receiving the University Medal. Nathan also received the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence during each of his seven years of study at the university.
Nathan has contributed to more than 30 peer-reviewed research publications and has presented his research at conferences in Australia and internationally. Nathan has a longstanding interest in skin cancer. During his surgical training, he and 11 colleagues established the charity Million Metres for Melanoma, which aims to support people affected by melanoma and contribute to melanoma research. Through the initiative, the group has achieved two Guinness World Records and raised more than $500,000 for melanoma research.
