About
Dr Niall Aboud completed his specialist ophthalmology training in Queensland, with the majority at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He underwent further training at Southampton Hospital, and Portsmouth Hospital, United Kingdom in strabismus and medical retina in 1998.
Dr Aboud commenced his practice in Northern NSW in 1999 and started private and public practice in Queensland since 2012. Non-metropolitan practice has enabled him to gain a broad experience and considerable expertise in the management of all ophthalmological conditions, including cataract, glaucoma, lid and lacrimal disease and medical retina.
For over 10 years, Dr Aboud has worked along with other specialist ophthalmologist colleagues, in providing a year-round after-hours service to the Northern NSW Local Health Network (NLHN). Since 2002, Dr Aboud has maintained a significant commitment to registrar training in co-operation with the Sydney Eye Hospital Registrar training scheme and the Queensland Registrar training scheme.
