Dr Nick Sharrock

Dr Nick Sharrock is a Consultant Geriatrician dedicated to improving the health, wellbeing and independence of older adults throughout the Albury-Wodonga region and North East Victoria. He consults from Border Physicians Group in West Albury and works closely with patients, families, carers and healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive, patient-centred care for the unique health challenges associated with ageing.

 

Dr Sharrock has a particular interest in the assessment and management of complex health conditions affecting older people. His approach focuses on maintaining quality of life, supporting independence and ensuring treatment plans are tailored to each patient's individual needs, goals and circumstances. 

 

He provides comprehensive geriatric assessments and ongoing management for a wide range of age-related conditions, including cognitive impairment, frailty, multimorbidity and polypharmacy. Dr Sharrock also supports patients experiencing age-related functional decline and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise health outcomes and reduce avoidable hospital admissions.

 

Dr Sharrock has a strong interest in residential aged care, community-based care and home-based assessments, recognising the importance of delivering specialist services close to where people live. He is passionate about supporting healthy ageing and ensuring older people living in regional and rural communities have access to high-quality specialist healthcare without the need to travel long distances. 

 

As part of the growing physician services available to the Albury-Wodonga community, Dr Sharrock works collaboratively with general practitioners, physicians, rehabilitation specialists, allied health professionals and aged care providers to provide coordinated and holistic care for older patients. AWPH planning documents describe Dr Sharrock as a newly recruited geriatrician supporting the continued growth of local rehabilitation services.
