About
Dr Paul Finighan is a Rehabilitation Medicine Physician dedicated to helping people regain independence and improve their quality of life after illness, injury, or surgery. His areas of interest include cancer, orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation, as well as balance and falls prevention, trauma recovery, and reconditioning.
Dr Finighan completed his medical degree at the University of Wollongong in 2015 and achieved Fellowship with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine in 2022. He has broad experience across both public and private sectors, including the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Prince Charles Hospital, and the Spinal and Brain Injury Units at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, as well as Sunshine Coast University and Rockhampton Hospital.
After completing his training, Dr Finighan returned to the Illawarra, where he provides inpatient and day rehabilitation services at Nowra and Figtree Private Hospitals, along with a telehealth day rehabilitation service for Rockhampton Public Hospital.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family and keeping active through Hyrox training.
