Dr Paul Urquhart

Mitcham Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Paul Urquhart (MBBS, FRACP), an experienced Gastroenterologist who combines private practice (Eastern Gastroenterology) with his public appointment as the Head of Endoscopy at Eastern Health.

 

Paul graduated from the University of Melbourne, before completing his specialist training at several of Melbourne’s leading gastroenterology units. He was then awarded a prestigious endoscopy fellowship at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto where he underwent additional training in advanced endoscopic procedures including difficult polyp resection, endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP, pillcam and balloon enteroscopy.

 

Paul is the Head of Endoscopy at Eastern Health (including Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals) where he oversees endoscopy services, is actively involved in teaching and provides expert patient care. He consults across a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders, and provides expert colonoscopy services as part of the National Bowel Cancer Screening program. He offers a compassionate and caring service, and believes that good communication is essential to providing quality medical care.
