Dr Prasanna Venkataraman is a consultant cardiologist with an interest in heart failure and cardiac imaging and holds a public appointment at Northern Health.
He completed cardiology training across Eastern Health, Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peninsula Health, followed by an imaging fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital.
He undertook additional fellowship training in cardiac MR, CT, cardio-oncology and inherited cardiomyopathies at St Bartholomews Hospital, London, UK.
Dr Venkataraman holds a PhD through the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and Monash University, with research focused on primary prevention, cardiovascular risk assessment, and cardiac CT. He has contributed to peer-reviewed medical publications.
He completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Laws at Monash University in 2009 and holds a Diploma in Health Economics and Policy. He has experience in global health and health policy, including work in the Asia-Pacific region.
Dr Venkataraman provides evidence-based care tailored to individual patient needs.
