Dr Pritom Sarker

Dr Pritom Sarker is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) with advanced subspecialty training in Addiction Psychiatry. He holds a strong clinical interest in Adult ADHD, dual diagnosis, and the long-term mental health impacts of trauma. His research interests include the effects of childhood trauma on mental health and cognition. 

Dr Sarker is affiliated with NSW Health and works across both public and private sectors in metropolitan Sydney. He consults in inpatient and outpatient settings, including Ramsay Clinic Wentworthville and telepsychiatry services. He is also a provider through Adelaide Psychological Services (APS) and is available for new referrals. 

Dr Sarker has broad and deep experience treating:
•    Substance Use Disorders: Alcohol, stimulants, cannabis, opioids, prescription medications
•    Adult ADHD: Diagnostic assessment and long-term management
•    Mood and Anxiety Disorders
•    Psychotic and Personality Disorders
•    Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations
His approach is collaborative, structured, and trauma-informed, tailored to support patient recovery in both community and institutional settings.

Dr Sarker applies a biopsychosocial model and works in close collaboration with:
•    GPs and referrers
•    Psychologists and allied health teams
•    Family and carers (where appropriate)
•    Public sector networks and private hospitals

He integrates pharmacological, psychological, and social interventions, always aiming to create sustainable recovery plans for his patients. 

Dr Sarker speaks Bengali, Hindi, and English, and is passionate about culturally sensitive care for migrants, international students, and CALD communities
